Can Use Of Bluetooth Headsets Lead To Cancer?

There are more and more consumers that have raised concerns about the health risks of using Bluetooth headsets. Lately, there have been fears that frequent use can ultimately lead to the development of cancer. Although there are no conclusive evidence that this is actually true, experts believe that microwave emissions from the headsets may increase an individual’s risk of developing cancer as well as many other kinds of health problems.

When cell phone technology was developed, there were already concerns regarding the risks of exposure to the low-powered microwaves that units emit. Given that phones and headsets are used close to the head there are several risks that pertain to developing brain cancer or any other neurologic damage. Bluetooth headsets in particular have been getting an alarming response since this headset is often placed inside the ear which is closer to the brain.

Studies made by the United States Food and Drug Administration, the US Federal Communications Commission and the United Kingdom National Radiological Protection Board shows that cell phones and similar mobile devices are safe but further research has been recommended.

Studies may have proven that cell phones are safe but being a new technology, there must be more studies regarding Bluetooth earpieces. Public opinion remains divided regarding the possible risks of using this type of headset although there are reports of individuals suffering from headaches after using the device and even getting headaches when a phone is powered on. There are many more reports regarding the effects of Bluetooth headsets as well as the use of cell phones on health but one thing is for sure, there will be improved technology that will surely be developed in the future. For now, it is still best to regulate Bluetooth earpiece use because it is still better to be safe than to be sorry in the end.
