A bike rack is a convenient way to carry your bike anywhere you want to go. These racks are made of durable material that are fitted on your car or vehicle where you can latch one, two and even four bikes at once. Bike racks allow you to take your bike on vacation, road trips, camping trips and especially when you move. Here are some important points to consider when choosing a bike rack:
• The brand makes a huge difference. Settle for a well known bike rack manufacturer that can provide a safe and high quality storage system for your bike. Remember that you need a durable brand that can hold your bike or bikes as you ride your car.
• The material used is also very important. Strong metals that are resistant to wear and tear are the best option. Check for the rack’s latches or locking systems too; these must securely fit your car whether you want to place the bike rack on the roof, at the sides or at the back of your car or vehicle.
• The number of bikes that you want to bring with you is also a factor. Many brands can hold one or two while there are more expensive models that can hold four or more. Consider any plans of adding more bikes in the future in your purchase.
• Pricing is also a factor. The more bikes it can hold the more expensive a bike rack is and of course the more popular the brand the more expensive it is as well. You also need to add the price of having a contractor assemble the bike rack on the roof of your vehicle if this is what you prefer or you may rather install the bike rack yourself.
